BUSINESS FORUM NORTHSIDE

background

Business Forum Northside is a group (started 2004) comprised of senior personnel from businesses and public sector organisations + professional advisors in Brisbane’s north-east.

purpose

The role of Business Forum Northside is to provide a forum whereby the members can inform one another of business experiences (both good and bad) and learn from the coups, mistakes and observations of others. [Business Forum Northside is not a lobby group, nor do we seek publicity.]

monthly luncheons

The members meet monthly at Bella Cosi Restaurant 22 Thomas Street
Chermside 4032 – commencing at 1:00pm and concluding by 2:30pm.

Guest speakers have spoken to BFN members (at the monthly luncheons) on:-

– the business decision to exit a franchise group [pharmacist]

– what work will our grandchildren be doing? [Ben Kehoe]

– the current investments environment [Dr Doug McTaggart]

– address by Brisbane’s Lord Mayor

– Australia’s neglected infrastructure [Everald Compton AM]

– investigating crime [KPMG forensic accountant]

– Brisbane airport’s master plan

– environmental considerations in a major property development [Bob Tucker]

– how to keep your bad habits but stay out of court [Peter Dunning, barrister-at-law]

– panel discussion on money matters [business banker + 2 financial planners + economist + accountant

membership subscription

BFN does not charge a joining fee to new members, nor does BFN charge an annual
subscription.  Instead the members each take it in turn to pay for a monthly lunch —– which normally costs (about once a year) less than $400.

Northside business people whose industry would expand BFN’s range are welcome and encouraged to join our business forum.

BFN particularly welcomes business start-ups who are looking for mentors, and most of our members have a LinkedIn profile.
